Your collection handover review

When you choose the collection option, we are responsible for your vehicle until you or your driver has checked it during your collection review

Your collection handover review is important

Our cars are not always in the condition we’d like them to be, so our claims process makes sure your car is returned to an agreed condition standard. Your Collection handover review is an important first step in the process, as it creates the Proof of Collection that will support any claim you might need to make.

We supply a Proof of Collection document and checklist so you can make sure your car’s condition has been correctly described, but you can use your own collection paperwork, as long as it includes the same information as our version.

Completing your collection handover review

We want you to be happy that you’ve had enough time to make a complete inspection of your new purchase, so we recommend your drive takes the time they need to look round the car and log any visual damage they see.

  • Your driver should walk round the car and make sure what is on the Proof of Collection is an accurate reflection of its condition.
  • If anything is missing from the report, your driver should update any comments or add any issues. We recommend that you log all issues - not everything will be claimable, but it will give you a complete record of the car’s condition.
  • Once your drive is happy that the information is correct and complete, they must sign the Proof of Collection
  • The document must also be signed by the collection site, to confirm the condition of the car at handover.
  • A copy of the document must be left with the collection site.

Remember!

We can only consider claims on visual issues that were logged at point of collection, so your driver needs to be confident that everything has been logged before signing.
